I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Happy Fathers' Day

Siblings share smiles as they ready for a cruise. It's nice to see dad again after quite a while.
Thanks for the glimpse Tita Nilda.
APNG Fellowship
Monday, Jun 1, 2009, 7:36 PM

I was awarded a full fellowship for the upcoming 11th Asia Pacific Networking Group Camp which will be held on 20 - 22 July 2009 in conjunction with the 28th Asia Pacific Advance Network (APAN) meeting at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The participants in this year's APNG camp seem to be trimmed down to less than 40 fellows compared to last year. I wasn't able to modify my picture here though. Good thing I'll be flying with Myra Siason to KL. Hope to be alive, alert and awake when I present the Philippine camp report on the first day of the event. May the 1AM-6AM sleeping hours be my friend.

The following day, I will be presenting my paper on E-Culture with topic focusing on a home-made Content Management System (CMS) -- My Activity Journal - Blogs and Wikis: Environments for Online Collaboration. This Open Source project is downloadable at http://maj.sourceforge.net.

Here's the complete schedule of the camp.

What I'm thinking about is the waking time for the whole duration of the camp. The time difference between my boot up time in Manila will be sooo far from that of APNG's requirement.
I hope I can join the shuttle on-time as it leaves the hotel at 7:45AM !
Angel's Second Angel
Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 9:33 PM

At 5am today, Angel gave birth to her little angel. Adam's sister weighed around 5 pounds. No final name yet but it will sure be another A -- Andrea maybe?

Congrats sis!
Psy Goes Green <grin>
Saturday, Mar 7, 2009, 4:12 PM

Psylocke did not have a typical school day last February 17. She still went to an exclusive school alright, but an exclusive boy's school.

Ok.. to cut the chase.

Holy Family is one of the schools that participated in the Claret-sponsored inter-school competition with a Global Warming theme. Together with 8 fourth year Familians, Psy was chosen to represent HFS based on their IT know-how. Claret Computer Olympiad 2009 was focused on computer skills but had a nice twist on how to make your team's project both earth-friendly and money-making. Green on both counts.

Psylocke brought home 2 gold medals - first place from the Amazing Race and the special award for most number of sold products. Kudos to her teammates too. Kids now show early signs of entrepreneurship.
LinuxChix Philippines Pre-Launch
Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009, 9:08 PM

LinuxChix is an international community for women who like Linux and Free Software, and for women who want to support women in computing.

Today, the Philippine Chapter of this international FOSS organization had its soft launch at the Technological Institute of The Philippines in Manila. Talks were delivered by LinuxChix members, Kim Murga, Aileen Cruzado and yours truly. There was also a LinuxChix booth that handled inquiries -- thanks to Irene Balaoing. The whole day event was handled by Gracia Sicat, TIP's ITE Roadshow organizer, a LinuxChix too.
